About us

The Norfolk Deaf Association's (NDA) work is aimed at improving the lives of young people and adults with all degrees of hearing loss, through a range of services providing personal, emotional and practical support to service users and their families/carers.

Services

Hearing Support Service

Provides routine maintenance and repairs of hearing aids, advice on their use, communication methods, assistive listening technology and information on hearing loss and other related conditions.

Hard of Hearing Club

Emotional support and facilitates social networking for people with hearing loss through monthly meetings offering a wide range of activities, including guest speakers, and trips to events and places of interest.

Befriending Service

Emotional support and companionship to members of the community experiencing loneliness or other health conditions through a personally tailored befriender pairing.

Tinnitus Support Group

Regular group meetings and telephone support sessions, aimed at supporting people with managing their Tinnitus.

Hearing Loss Awareness Training

Available to organisations and individuals, aimed at raising awareness of the challenges faced by people with all degrees of hearing loss in the workplace, education and in social settings.

British Sign Language (BSL) Introductory and Level 1 (accredited course) and BSL Practice Group

NHS Hearing Tests and Hearing Aid Fitting Services

Audiologists from the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital (NNUH) provide hearing aid fitting services from the NDA office. The service is available without visiting the hospital and provides an easily accessible community based, non-hospital environment. Patients should ask their GP to refer them to the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NDA office for a hearing aid assessment.
